Health factors

A decade ago researchers agreed on physical activity as one of the strongest known health factors. Physical activity is a part in treatment and important to prevent at least 30 medical conditions (www.fyss.se)

Physical activity means bodily movements, which increases energy expenditure - all movements count (Casparsen 1985).

Recommendations for physical activity

Recommendations for physical activity* Numerous countries and organisations agree on the current general recommendations for physical activity, among them the Swedish Medical Society (Svenska Läkarsällskapet). For healthy adults:

• Daily activity is important - all movements count • Activity should be of at least moderate intensity • Accumulate 30 minutes every day. Adding up shorter bouts of activity is ok
